GDOP Day 6: Forgive

James 5:15- "Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective."

"Sin demands to have a man by himself. It withdraws him from the community. The more isolated a person is, the more destructive will be the power of sin over him, and the more deeply he becomes involved in it, the more disastrous is his isolation. Sin wants to remain unknown. It shuns the light. In the darkness of the unexpressed it poisons the whole being of a person." -Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Sometimes we are unaware of the ways that sin is affecting our lives. We need Jesus so much more than we realize. The more control we allow Him to have, the more we realize our need for Him. It is good when He is in control- our lives have a purpose and the gift we receive is joy unspeakable.

Lord would you reveal sin in our lives? Would you cleanse us from all of our unrighteousness so that we can have more of You? We acknowledge that when we continue in sin we are communing with powers of darkness, allowing them to have control. In the name of Jesus, break the chains of sin and guilt in our lives. Thank you, God.
