Please be in prayer for Mike Manske- He is currently in Japan with a team from the International House of Prayer in Kansas City, MO. The team is there ministering to individuals and churches and helping to build up houses of prayer throughout Japan.
Update from Mike: "Hello all, Its been a while since my last email. I have been very busy, and not much internet connection. Things are going well. Today we went to a church in Ekoda japan. we did harp and bowl labs for the church. It was awesome and totally encouraging. we had some awesome testimonies. people saying it makes me want to pray, or its so easy. Ok, now i have 5min :) Bullet points. In tokyo the past week. been awesome doing street evangelism/prayer walk/prayer meetings. Tomorrow (in about 6 hours) we leave for Tohoku and Sendai (monday-friday) we are going to de-mud houses. I have no idea what that looks like, but our team has rubber boots, one piece jumpsuits, gloves, and masks. I am excited. we will be staying in a hotel... that is packed with displaced people, some of our team may be sleeping in the vans we drive up there in. I will not have internet until i get back over the weekend sometime. God is awesome. Thank you for your prayers. They are a necessity. there was a 7.0 earthquake near Sendai. thank God the pressure is released before we get there. -protection, endurance, grace, and unity for our team. -we will be faithful witnesses to the hurting people. ok gotta go. Holy Week Reflections... Jesus' Victory Over Satan (Easter Monday!)

"...on the cross Jesus bled and died for you, and by faith, as you look to the cross, you will see the great lengths he has gone to in the conquering of your Enemy and the liberating of your life. Consequently, Jesus’ words, “It is finished,” from the cross are his heralding of your liberation. Crucifying Jesus was the biggest mistake the Devil ever made. Had he understood what was happening, he would never have killed Jesus, as it says in 1 Corinthians 2:6–9:

Yet among the mature we do impart wisdom, although it is not a
wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are doomed
to pass away. But we impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God,
which God decreed before the ages for our glory. None of the
rulers of this age understood this, for if they had, they would not
have crucified the Lord of glory. But, as it is written, “What no
eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what
God has prepared for those who love him.”

My favorite portion of Scripture on the victory of Jesus over Satan, sin, and death is Colossians 2:13–15:

And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.

Holy Week Reflections... A God Who Suffered

"I could never myself believe in God, if it were not for the cross. The only God I believe in is the One Nietzsche ridiculed as “God on the cross.” In the real world of pain, how could one worship a God who was immune to it? I have entered many Buddhist temples in different Asian countries and stood respectfully before the statue of the Buddha, his legs crossed, arms folded, eyes closed, the ghost of a smile playing round his mouth, a remote look on his face, detached from the agonies of the world. But each time after a while I have had to turn away. And in imagination I have turned instead to that lonely, twisted, tortured figure on the cross, nails through hands and feet, back lacerated, limbs wrenched, brow bleeding from thorn-pricks, mouth dry and intolerably thirsty, plunged in Godforsaken darkness. That is the God for me! He laid aside his immunity to pain. He entered our world of flesh and blood, tears and death. He suffered for us. Our sufferings become more manageable in the light of his. There is still a question mark against human suffering, but over it we boldly stamp another mark, the cross that symbolizes divine suffering. ”The cross of Christ . . . is God’s only self-justification in such a world” as ours. . . . “The other gods were strong; but thou wast weak; they rode, but thou didst stumble to a throne; But to our wounds only God’s wounds can speak, And not a god has wounds, but thou alone.”

Holy Week Reflections... The Cost Of Love

"The value of a love-gift is assessed both by what it costs the giver and by the degree to which the recipient may be held to deserve it. A young man who is in love, for example, will give his beloved expensive presents, often beyond what he can afford, as symbols of his self-giving love, because he believes she deserves them, and more. Jacob served seven years for Rachel because of his love for her. But God in giving his Son gave himself to die for his enemies. He gave everything for those who deserved nothing from him. ’And that is God’s own proof of his love toward us’ (Rom 5.8 NEB). . . ."

Reading the New Testament

I want to encourage you to join me in a 9 week reading and seeking adventure. I'll be reading through the New Testament during January and February, following the reading plan below. I also want to encourage you to designate times of fasting while we do this. Jesus made it clear that fasting would be important to our spiritual health as we wait for his return. Let's use designated times each week to seek Jesus as we read the stories about him and the gospel of the kingdom which he came to proclaim. If you've never fasted before, or haven't for a while, I encourage you to start with short, easy ventures; set aside blocks of time. Also, during this time we want to pray for fresh insights (revelation) into our experience of his Spirit and his direction for our lives.

KNOW the REVELATION

The Book of Revelation reveals the glory of Jesus (Rev. 1:1) and His specific plan to transition the earth to the age-to-come. These events require our deep involvement.

I believe that to best understand the Revelation we must first understand what Jesus had to say about the end of the age in Matthew 24&25, as well as what Daniel prophesied (Jesus refers to Daniel in Matthew 24:15).

There are 4 parts in the structure of Revelation. The 4^th part has 5 chronological sections in which the events occur in sequential order. There are 7 main symbols in the Book.

The main theme of Revelation is Jesus’ return to earth to rule all the nations. Evil governments will resist this. His End-Time battle plan is to physically destroy all the evil governments on earth by releasing His judgments on them during the Great Tribulation as described in Rev. 6-19.

As the Book of Acts describes the power of the Holy Spirit that was released through the early Church so the Book of Revelation describes the power of the Holy Spirit that will be released through the End-Time Church. I refer to Revelation as the “End-Time Book of Acts”. It is a “canonized prayer manual” that informs us of the ways in which Jesus will manifest His power.

Revelation is Jesus’ battle plan to allow the sin in man’s heart to fully come to the surface and then to drive evil off the planet through the praying Church. These judgment events do not happen to us as helpless victims of Satan but are released through us as participants with Jesus. Jesus’ judgments are released to remove all that hinders love. He is at war to have His wedding.

The 7 main symbols: all events and numbers in Revelation are to be taken in their plain meaning (literal) unless specifically indicated not to (Rev. 1:20; 5:6; 11:8; 12:1, 3, 9; 17:7, 9, 15-18, etc.)
1) Dragon: is symbolic of Satan (Rev. 12:3, 4, 7, 9, 13, 16, 17; 13:2, 4; 16:13; 20:2)
2) First Beast: is symbolic of the Antichrist (Rev. 13; 14:9-11; 17:3-17; 19:19-21; 20:4, 10)
3) Another Beast: is symbolic of the False Prophet called “another Beast” just once (Rev. 13:11)
4) Seven Heads: are 7 empires from history that persecuted Israel (Egypt, Assyria, Babylon,
Persia, Greece, Rome, revived Roman Empire of Dan. 2:41-42; 7:7; Rev. 12:3; 13:1; 17:3-16)
5) Ten Horns: represents a 10-nation confederation that serves the Antichrist (Rev. 17:12-13)
6) Harlot Babylon: will be a worldwide demonically inspired religious and economic system
based in the re-built city of Babylon, near Baghdad in Iraq (Rev. 17-18; Jer. 50-51)
7) Woman with a Male-child (Jesus): is the faithful remnant of Israel through history (Rev. 12)

Structure Of Revelation: 4 Parts and 5 sections (in the 4Th part)

Rev. 1 Pt. 1 John’s CALLING to prophesy about the End-Times: John gave 18 truths about Jesus’
majesty that formed the way he prophesied about the End-Times, which are meant to equip us.

Rev. 2-3 Pt. 2 Jesus gave 7 LETTERS to 7 churches: the instructions Jesus gave to these 7 churches
about overcoming sin give us practical insight into what we must also overcome today.

Rev. 4-5 Pt. 3 Jesus takes the SCROLL: contains the earth’s title deed and His battle plan to cleanse it.

Rev. 6-22 Pt. 4 Jesus’ BATTLE PLAN: includes Great Tribulation judgments against the Antichrist.
Jesus reveals His main storyline of love to cleanse the earth of evil. His battle plan
is seen in 5 Chronological sections that describe events that unfold in sequential order.
Each section is followed by an Angelic explanation to help us understand that section.

The 5 Chronological Sections: tell us what happens to the Antichrist’s followers in 21 judgment events (7 seals, 7 trumpets, 7 bowls). These intensify in severity as they unfold.

The 5 Angelic Explanations: function as a parenthesis, putting the storyline on “pause”. They answer questions arising from the chronological sections: Why is God’s wrath so severe? What will happen to us? Angels explain to John what happens to God’s people including what Jesus will do to help us and what the Antichrist will do to persecute us.

Rev. 6 Chronological section #1: the SEAL JUDGMENTS against the kingdom of darkness.
Rev. 7 Angelic Explanation #1: we receive PROTECTION from judgments and falling away.

Rev. 8-9 Chronological section #2: the TRUMPET JUDGMENTS against the Antichrist’s empire.
Rev. 10-11 Angelic Explanation #2: we receive DIRECTION by great increase of prophetic ministry.

Rev. 11:15-19 Chronological section #3: the SECOND COMING PROCESSION and the Rapture.
The 7^th and Last Trumpet (1 Cor. 15:52; Rev. 10:7; 1 Thes. 4:16): Jesus replaces all
governmental leaders on earth in a hostile takeover. In His Procession, Jesus first travels
across the sky to rapture the saints (every eye sees Him; Rev. 1:7), then through the land
of Edom (modern day Jordan; Isa. 63:1-6) then into Jerusalem to the Mount of Olives.
Rev. 12-14 Angelic Explanation #3: the CONFRONTATION against the saints by the Antichrist’s
system and persecutions requires that all his governments be taken over. Satan is on earth.

Rev. 15-16 Chronological section #4: the BOWL JUDGMENTS destroy evil infrastructures in society
Rev. 17-18 Angelic Explanation #4: the SEDUCTION of Babylon’s evil religion will permeate and
infiltrate all the structures of society, requiring that Babylon be totally destroyed.

Rev. 19-20 Chronological section #5: Jesus’ TRIUMPHAL ENTRY to Jerusalem (Rev. 19:11-21:8)
Rev. 21-22 Angelic Explanation #5: the RESTORATION of all things Acts 3:21 (Rev. 21:9-22:5)

The Basis of Your Blessings

Malachi
God spoke through the prophet Malachi to confront the people of Jerusalem about the condition of their faith. When the exiles returned to Jerusalem after many years of captivity there was great excitement to rebuild the city and live out their destiny as the people of God. However, at this time they had lost their excitement and the fervor of their faith. Priests and Levites were working odd jobs to support themselves because of decreased tithes and offerings, thus the practices of their worship were not occurring with great regularity.

Look at the message of Malachi to the people (3:6-12)

1.God wants to restore you.
Here was the problem. "Ever since the time of (their) forefathers..." they had sin separating them from the LORD. Sin is not only a departure from righteous living, it's a departure from God.

But note here the desire of God's heart. God took the initiative to confront the sin and call the people to repentance, that they might live obediently to his commands and have fellowship with him.

"Return to me, and I will return to you,” says the LORD Almighty."

If you realize that there is sin in your life, you'll recognize that is has affected your relationship with the LORD. You need to repent and be restored to God.

2.You need to make restitution for what you've withheld.
The people of Jerusalem were living outside of God's grace -- living cursed lives. God calls them to live obediently -- to start tithing again and to bring what they had withheld. The "whole tithe" signifies the addition of interest required for tithes that were late.

You are under a curse—your whole nation—because you are robbing me. ¹⁰ Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house.

Here's what was stated in regards to bringing their tithes:

a-There's a place to give.
The storehouse was the designated spot for depositing tithes and offerings, ever since the time of Hezekiah (2Chronicles 31:11)

b-There's a proportion to give.
A tithe, meaning a tenth, was to be given to honor the LORD as Provider and to supply what was needed for the ministry of the LORD.
Tithing is older than the Law-- Genesis 14:18-20
Tithing was enforced by the Law-- Leviticus 27:30
Tithing was acknowledged and enforced by Jesus-- Matthew 23:23
Tithing was taught by the Apostles-- 1 Corinthians 16:2

c-There's a purpose for your giving.
"That there may be food in my house"
As with the Old Testament implication, where tithing was to supply those who worked in the Temple and their ministry, in the New Testament we read that tithing is to do the same in the Church.

3.Discover the basis of your relationship with God.
Through the message of Malachi, God wants the people to realize that the basis of their relationship with him is TRUST!

Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. ¹¹ I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not drop their fruit before it is ripe,” says the LORD Almighty. ¹² “Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land,” says the LORD Almighty.

Here's what God wants to do for you:
a-He wants to reward your faith.

b-He wants to rebuke your enemies.

c-He wants to renew your life for all the world to see.

Garrison Keillor, author of the nostalgic Lake Wobegon books, recalls his childhood Thanksgiving dinners, as the family gathered around the table and remembered the blessings of the past year. Uncle John usually gave the prayer, which caused everyone to squirm. As Keillor said, "Everybody in the family knew that Uncle John couldn't pray without talking about the cross and crying. … Sure enough, Uncle John prayed, talked about the cross, and cried. Meanwhile, the rest of us shifted nervously from one foot to the other and longed for the prayer to end."

Then Garrison Keillor adds this powerful observation: "All of us knew that Jesus died on the cross for us, but Uncle John had never gotten over it."

Message from our Pastor

It is very exciting to watch and listen to the children of our congregation as they worship at 3CF each week. They are so full of energy and excitement! They are an ever-growing group among us, both in number and spiritual depth. The children of our fellowship are a special blessing to us as we witness what the LORD is doing in their lives. Their child-like faith finds it easy to love God without reservations and trust God for things that are difficult. In this, they are a great example to us. Jesus once said to his disciples, “Unless you change and become like little children, you can not enter the kingdom of heaven.” It is apparent to me that they are as much of the Church now as any of us!

Seabrook Yard-Give-Away

In an effort to reach the lost in our area, we are planning an outreach project in the next couple of weeks in Seabrook in the neighborhood areas near the middle schools on Route 77. We are currently trying to secure a date to use the recreation building/ center there. We greatly need your help in this effort, not only on the day of the event, but in preparation. The event that we will be doing is just like a YARD SALE, but everything will be FREE. We are calling it a "YARD GIVE-A-WAY" at this Yard-Give-a-way, we will have a prayer-booth, and would like you to use your gifts in face-painting, balloon sculpting, arts & crafts, music, solos, / praise & worship music and anything that you can offer to entertain / MINISTER -TO the guest and get them to stay a while to increase our time to be able to witness to them and win them over to Jesus. Even if you can only spend an hour there at the event, it will be a blessing. Now for the items to be given away is where we need your help. We would like to give away some food, like hotdogs, chips & can soda and we are asking you to donate things that you would put out for a Yard Sale, please look around your home, garage, attic, or even get some things from the Dollar store. We need items for MEN, WOMEN & CHILDREN. We ask that you start bringing them in now to Mission Base and leave them in the designated area, so that we can see that we have enough. We will post flyers in that area to advertise the event, we will go Door to door, and anyway that we can get the word out. On Friday September 10^th I was contacted by a secretary of a social agency about a client in need. This agency will periodically contact me about assistance needed for people who are struggling. This woman was a victim of human trafficking and has extenuating circumstances that made her situation very difficult. The secretary forwarded me the following story that came from a social worker who was handling the case. *The woman’s name has been changed to protect her identity.*

“Adia is a 36 year old, widowed female from Paraguay. Adia lost her husband while he was away on a business trip. When her husband passed away, Adia had a difficult time finding a job in Paraguay to support her children and continue paying their mortgage. She was very happy when she found a flyer recruiting females to come to the United States to work in housekeeping at a hotel in Las Vegas. Adia called the number on the flyer and thought it was a genuine job. She left her children in the care of her mother in Paraguay and came to the United States to work as a housekeeper in Las Vegas. Unfortunately, like many others, Adia felt prey to a human trafficking scam. She was physically and sexually abused by the traffickers and when she arrived in Las Vegas she was forced to prostitute herself. Although the traffickers threatened to hurt her family in Paraguay if she did not comply with their demands, Adia managed to escape from the traffickers. However, shortly after she escaped she learned she was pregnant as a result of being raped by one of the traffickers. Adia spent many days sleeping in the streets with no food and worried that her unborn child would not survive because she had nothing to eat. She arrived in New Jersey after she contacted an adoption agency. Adia had not given birth yet, but she had called the agency with plans to give her baby for adoption after the delivery. She had no income and was afraid she would not be able to feed her child.

On March 24, 2010, 4 days after her baby was born and she handed him over to the adoptive father, Adia contacted our services for advice on how to get him back. She had been very depressed since giving her child up for adoption. Adia spoke to one of our attorneys, and with the advice from our office she was able to get her son back a few days later. Adia and her baby needed a place to live. We helped Adia get into a local shelter for victims of domestic violence and she has been living there since March 28, 2010. We were working on her immigration case as a victim of human trafficking when Adia learned that her mother had a heart attack in Paraguay. Her mother’s heart attack was apparently triggered by the news that they had lost the house because Adia has not been able to make any payments. Her children are now staying with someone temporarily and her mother continues in ICU. Adia needs to get to Paraguay as soon as possible to care for her children and her mother, and also to find a place to live. We are exploring any financial resources available to assist with paying for Adia’s and her son’s airfare, and to pay for his passport and Visa. Any assistance is greatly appreciated!”

After receiving the information and the story I contacted other pastors in the area that are part of the Bridgeton Christian Ministers Association. The BCMA made a sizable contribution. We also arranged to tell Adia’s story during our worship service, prayed for her and took up a special offering for her needs.

On Monday, September 13^th my assistant Jesse Renaud and I took the collected offerings totaling $600 to the social agency office in Bridgeton. When we gave the money to the office secretary who had contacted me, she wept with joy and she shared with us that she had been praying for an opportunity to be used by God in a powerful way. Jesse and I then went to the Salvation Army and met with Major Tom Pierce with the hope of securing more contributions. Major Tom got online with the Salvation Army National Headquarters, Human Trafficking Division, and discovered that they would be able to donate frequent flyer miles that would cover the bulk of the airfare. This would allow Adia to use the extra money to begin addressing the difficult issues that she and her family faced. After talking with the social worker for needed details, Major Tom was able to book the flight from his office and also find Salvation Army workers in Paraguay who would be able to assist Adia when she arrived home. We are truly amazed at the way God worked over these few shorts days, connecting Christians in a powerful way to meet the needs of Adia and her family. But God didn’t stop there!

On Monday evening we learned that the Salvation Army of Atlantic City had sent a contribution of $1,000 to further assist in this crisis. Two days later, another Salvation Army worker from their National Headquarters, Human Trafficking Division, made a personal contribution of $500. When we connected with the social worker to transfer the collected monies she was brought to tears and praised God for all that had happened in those few days. On Friday the 17^th of September, Adia and her baby boarded a plane and began their journey home. Just before she left she gave the social worker a note expressing her thanks to everyone who had prayed rallied to her support. She arrived home the next evening and was reunited with her mother and children.

I praise God for the secretary and her faith that God would work through his people to bring aid to Adia and her family. I am also overwhelmed by the ways that people from work places and congregations here in Bridgeton responded in prayer and contributions to meet this need, to right the wrongs of injustice and express the love of Jesus.

"Expelling demons was as normal a part of Jesus' ministry as preaching. Delivering people from demons was both the confirmation and the practical application of the message He was preaching, which was: 'The kingdom of God is at hand' (Mark 1:15)" (Derek Prince).

There's a divine clash. The kingdom of God is warring with the kingdom of the enemy. Demonic activity rages as the days grow nearer to Christ's return. How do we respond? We must pray as Jesus taught his disciples, "deliver us from evil." God has the power to break through any evil that may have a hold on us. He has the power to set us free.

We want to be free. God, we ask that you would come to our rescue.

"All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen" (Revelation 1:6).

We are called to holiness, to righteous living, but the world that we live in is full of darkness. And with a hard heart, it can be difficult to differentiate between light and darkness. Soon we find ourselves dwelling in a place that is void of all that is good and lovely. Let’s pray that God would give us soft hearts that beat for Him, that He would return to His rightful place as our first love.

We have all been wronged in some way. Someone has done something to hurt us, and our flesh wants to fight back- to make them pay for what they have done to us. Jesus teaches that we should love those who have wronged us. We must lay aside our own agendas to make peace with those around us, even at the cost of our own pride.

Jesus teach us how to forgive. When it feels impossible, give us the strength to be kind to our enemies. Change our hearts to be more like yours, and make us peacemakers so that we might be called sons and daughters of God.

Sometimes we are unaware of the ways that sin is affecting our lives. We need Jesus so much more than we realize. The more control we allow Him to have, the more we realize our need for Him. It is good when He is in control- our lives have a purpose and the gift we receive is joy unspeakable.

Lord would you reveal sin in our lives? Would you cleanse us from all of our unrighteousness so that we can have more of You? We acknowledge that when we continue in sin we are communing with powers of darkness, allowing them to have control. In the name of Jesus, break the chains of sin and guilt in our lives. Thank you, God.

This world is broken. It is in bondage to sin, sickness and decay. Governments, societies, nations and cultures are all in different stages of corruption and fallenness, just as is every human apart from the saving and transforming work of Christ. Only through Jesus are we taken from darkness into light, from broken, sinful hearts to hearts made new and clean by the power of the Spirit.

There is one hope for this decaying world. Jesus. Only with the return of Jesus will this world be fully transformed and brought into its fullness and the perfection that was lost. As the body of Jesus on the earth, we are to continue what he started and be about transformation and redemption in all spheres of society, by the power of His Spirit, until He comes and makes "all things new."

The Kingdom of God is seen wherever Jesus is recognized and worshipped as king. Followers of Christ are subjects of another kingdom; one that will come in fullness with the return of the King, but also a kingdom reality that can be walked in and experienced even now. This is a kingdom that "is not of this world." A kingdom of love, righteousness, justice and mercy. A kingdom of truth and beauty, holiness and power. This is the kingdom we truly belong to and we are given the Holy Spirit to enable us to walk as citizens of His kingdom, even in "this present evil age."

Pray:
-For many to enter the kingdom through faith in Jesus, the King of Kings.
-For believers to be empowered to demonstrate the kingdom as they serve the King.
-For the Lordship of Christ to influence every part of of our communities, cities, nations and the world.

Through Jesus, the way has been made for people from every tongue, tribe, nation and language to be reconciled to their Creator in love. Through His life, death and resurrection, Jesus has been revealed as true God and true man, Savior, Messiah, and true King.

And so we ask that in all nations, and in our own communities, Jesus would be lifted high. We pray that men, women and children would be drawn to the one who made them and who loves them. We ask that Jesus would be revealed all across the globe as the one true God and that people everywhere would fall at His feet in worship.

The House of the LORD

Many of the Psalms speak of the 'House of the LORD.' These passages speak of the glorious experiences of revival that took place at David's Tabernacle, after King David established worship around the Ark of the Covenant in Jerusalem (see 1 Chronicles 15& 16).

These notes will look at 5 of these passages and examine the experience of God's people, while considering that the Apostle James said (Acts 15:12-21) that these experiences also are to belong to those of us who follow Jesus.

1. It’s a place for completion.
-Psalm 27:4

One thing I ask of the LORD,
this is what I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the LORD
all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD
and to seek him in his temple.

*As David went through the ups and downs of life he came to realize that there was nothing more precious than the presence of God. His greatest desire became seeking God in the beauty of his holiness.
Illustration: AGING - As I go through life I learn that the things in life that were once important to me now carry much less significance. What matters most in experiencing God and his glory.

2. It’s a house of satisfaction.
-Psalm 36:5-8
Your love, O LORD, reaches to the heavens,
your faithfulness to the skies.6 Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your justice like the great deep. *David found satisfaction in the LORD as he came to know God as the Sovereign, the Sustainer, the One who is faithful and loving and righteous in all his ways.

3. It’s a house of offerings.

I will come to your temple with burnt offerings
and fulfill my vows to you- 14 vows my lips promised and my mouth spoke
when I was in trouble. 15 I will sacrifice fat animals to you
and an offering of rams; I will offer bulls and goats.

*David speaks of a peace offering and a sin offering being fully burned up on the alter. He wanted his offerings fully consumed by fire, ascending to the LORD in heaven.

Illustration - TIGER WOODS - As I watched Tiger Woods apologize for his sexcapades I saw a man who has been humbled, doing everything he knew how to recognize the pain he had caused and the battle of addiction that he faces. His words were carefully chosen, as needed to be. His expressed desire was to apologize to those whom he hurt and find healing for his inner pain. There are many who have been quick to criticize Tiger, but having worked with many through the process of overcoming addiction, I recognized a genuineness in his desire. My prayer for Tiger is that he would come to know Jesus -- the one whom God has sacrificed for the forgiveness of sin -- and that he would experience the forgiveness, peace and love that only Christ can give.

4. It’s a place of growth.
-Psalm 92:12

The righteous will flourish like a palm tree,
they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; 13 planted in the house of the LORD,
they will flourish in the courts of our God. 14 They will still bear fruit in old age,
they will stay fresh and green, 15 proclaiming, "The LORD is upright;

5. It’s a house of praise.

Exodus Cry & Human Trafficking

We have aligned ourselves with Exodus Cry, a christian organization dedicated to bringing increased awareness of human trafficking and fighting the spiritual battles related to this evil. Each month we will pray for a different city around the world. This month (February) we are praying for the city of Vancouver, BC, Canada. It is a city where the sex trade runs rampant and this industry will be in high form during the time of the olympics. Let's prayerfully seek God to expose this evil to the eyes of the world as their attention is caught by the olympic games.

3CF Childrens Ministry

Nursery-

We currently have a crawler room for ages under 2 years old. At this time the crawler room is not staffed, with the hope that in the near future it will be. Parents are welcome to take their children into the crawler room during service if they need a place to roam around.

Our Preschool is held in the large nursery room and is for the 2 years-pre-K age group. We currently have a nursery attendant and helper during service, so parents can feel free to leave their children and attend the adult service. Also we have a teacher that comes in around 11:00 (after worship) to supervise and instruct a music time, bible story time, and snack time with the children. Our hope is to have enough committed nursery workers to start a preschool curriculum with Bible instruction, worship music, arts and crafts, and snack each Sunday Morning.

Flight School is for the K-6^th Grade age group. They meet each Sunday morning after the worship and fellowship time until the end of service. Our vision is to equip our children to live out a lifelong pursuit of God by loving, serving, praying, studying the Word, and preaching the gospel, with Christ as our model and in the power of the Holy Spirit. We want them to take flight on this journey with God. Currently we have 15 workers who make up our Flight School Ministry Team, and we are always looking for more. We believe that our children are the church of today, not the church of tomorrow.

Youth Group-

Youth Group will be taking on a new form here at 3CF. Starting this year the Youth Group will be meeting once a month for a youth event, such as a concert, conference, coffeehouse, etc. Our weekly night meetings will now take place Sunday mornings as part of the Youth Group Sunday School Class. This decision comes after speaking with leaders, parents, and kids, over what best suits our church family at this time.

Sunday School-

We offer two different Sunday School classes for our children. Our Elementary Sunday School Class is for the K-6^th Grade age group, and meets in the Flight School room at 9:15-9:45 am. This class is currently taught by Wanda Carr.
Our secondary class is our Youth Group class, which is for grades 7-12. This class currently meets in the Kitchen area, and is taught by Jesse Renaud and Nate Thomas.

Our hope is to eventually have a preschool age Sunday School Group in the future.

We are always looking for more help with Sunday School. If you have an interest in helping or would like more information about the ministry, please contact Wanda Carr who is currently running the Sunday School Ministry.

Members of our congregation stepped up this past Sunday to form a new chapter/committee for Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) of NJ, to enhance the after-school Good News Clubs already going on and to vision for future ministry expansion to the children of our area. Currently, Wanda Carr oversees two Bible clubs at the Buckshutem Elementary School and Alayne Strang meets with children in Seabrook Village, helped by Sharon and Amanda. We have another group of children who are ready to begin meeting at the Salvation Army after school and we are hoping to begin in January. 3CF Flight School VBS was a great time this past week for all the children involved! Thanks to all the volunteers who made it possible and shared the love of Christ with the kids. Thanks to Stacy for a great job of putting it all together and to Jodi for the pictures!

In 1990 while in attendance at the Urbana Missions Conference George Verwer, founder of Operation Mobiliation challenged us to gain a global perspective for mission and to be in fervent prayer for the purposes of Jesus in establishing His Kingdom. He challenged people to establish "Houses of Prayer" throughout the world that relate to this purpose. I left the conference personally challenged with a vision for missional prayer and an inner tension for the personal sacrifices that would make it a reality and I was vividly aware that this was something that the average congregation would wrestle to embrace. During the next decade as I looked for personal involvement in this area I saw God moving to establish such Houses of Prayer in Asia, Europe and even the United States. In the late 1990's when IHOP-KC was established I had personal connections with those who were involved in its initial stages of development. When I visited IHOP-KC I was intrigued by the way they mixed worship and prayer through their Harp & Bowl method and I saw this as something that I thought could transfer into ministry at the local congregation level.

It has been exciting for me to watch those from 3CF who have grasped this vision and have become excited about the Harp & Bowl style of prayer and see desire grow for us to be an established House of Prayer. I have heard many of you, as well as people outside of our fellowship, reference the term in regards to what we do. Recently Nate and others have been promoting the name SJHOP, which further develops this concept among us. It may be time for us to embrace this name and I invite your input.

Bridgeton Bi-Lingual Church Plant

We have a partnership with a group from Vineland that took steps to plant a new congregation in Bridgeton. The plant is called Emmanuel BiLingual. It started in August. Our partnership includes monthly financial support, prayer support, help with needs, evangelism, presence at worship each Sunday evening @ 6:30pm.

There was a group from 3CF who attended the ONETHING conference in Kansas City, 12/27-31/2008. They joined nearly 20,000 others who attended for prayer, worship and workshops. There were many others around the world who participated through web cast and GOD TV.

Multi-Cultural Prayer Night

Last Saturday 3CF hosted a prayer night celebrating our cultural diversity in Bridgeton. The evening started with a dinner prepared by a local African-American congregation, followed by a time of worship, led in both English and Spanish. We heard testimonies from Mexican immigrants and local peoples of the ways that God has moved and worked in their lives and in this community. In so many ways, the night was a picture of the kingdom of God, diverse but unified under one Lord.

Christmas is a time that most look forward to. Jesus, family, presents, snow. There are many wonderful things about this season. All too often though, we look forward to it for incomplete, if not wrong, reasons. Even we Christians, in our remembering the significance of this time of year, often take a very shallow look at the event we are celebrating. The enormous depth of the birth of Christ, the Incarnation, Emmanuel-God With Us, is staggering and should capture us year-round! As we approach this Christmas, take the time to meditate on all that the holiday points us to, as we remember His first Advent and anticipate His return, the second Advent.

A Touch from God

One day Jesus healed a man who had been blind from birth. This healing took place on the Sabbath, which really angered religious leaders who already opposed Jesus. When they questioned the man who was healed about what took place, he replied (John 9:25), "Whether he is a sinner or not, I don't know. One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see! "

In the Spring of this year a revival broke out in Lakeland, Florida. It’s being called a ‘Healing Revival’ because many people who attend are reporting healing from various problems. This revival has been web cast nightly since shortly after its inception and has also been aired on cable TV channels, such as GOD TV. There has also been a great deal of media coverage. Besides the Florida media, many of the prime time news programs have reported the events.

While most of the media has reported objectively on the revival, it has received criticism from some religious leaders’ across the country. The revival doesn’t fit the traditional Church experiences and the initial leader of these healing services, Todd Bently, doesn’t look much like a traditional Christian leader. He looks like a part of the Florida biker crowd and sports tattoos all over his body. He also doesn’t often act, talk, or pray like a traditional church leader.

The healings began when Bently, from Canada, was invited to speak to a congregation in Lakeland. At the first worship service Bently began to prayed for sick people to be healed, following Biblical guidelines. That’s when the healings began to happen. People soon began to testify of how God moved during these times of prayer and healed them. Night after night people reconvened for worship and prayer. People began to come from all over the country, then from other countries. It’s been going on for about five months.

I went to Lakeland and attended these services in late June. A few weeks earlier I had received a note from a friend who told me that he had just been diagnosed with terminal cancer; he was told he had two months to live. I contacted the friend, told him about what was happening in Lakeland and asked if I could take him there for healing prayer. My friend wanted to go, so we went. What we found when we arrived was a bit overwhelming. There were about 7,000 people at each of the services we attended, most seeming as desperate as my friend for a touch from God. The worship was whole-hearted and passionate. The prayer times were intense. Each night’s session went four to five hours as we worshipped and prayed for healing needs.

While the primary purpose for my trip was to take my desperate friend, I also made a request and received prayer in Lakeland. I had been suffering for two years from a chronic reflux condition which developed as a result of a disease I contracted while doing mission work in South Asia in January of 2006. My condition left me in significant discomfort, reliant on daily medication and a special diet. However, after returning from Lakeland I realized that I didn’t need my medication any more and that I have no more of the symptoms. I can also report that my friend who attended with me is doing well… even a month after he was supposed to die. He has shown no signs of deterioration.

Like the man healed by Jesus, I don’t understand it all and I’m not sure what critics are looking to hear. All I know is that I was sick and I have been healed. Thank you LORD!

The Call

Last week twenty-five people from Carll's Corner Community Fellowship and the Bridgeton area traveled to Washington, D.C. to take part in The Call D.C., a twelve hour prayer event that brings Christians together to pray for revival for our country.

According to Lou Engle, founder of this event, “The Call is not another Christian festival; it's a fast.” It's designed to be a solemn assembly of Christians who want to seek the LORD through prayer and fasting to bring about revival. Participants are encouraged to spend preparation time in prayer and fasting for three weeks prior to the event. The Call is also considered to be a catalytic event, because it stirs believers to pray more; it moves the heart of God; it leads to more prayer events, prayer ministries, and prayer cultures among believers.

The Call has been held in locations throughout the US and a few other countries over the past eight years. There are sometimes as many as 400,000 people who attend. On 8/16/08 The Call was held in Washington, DC. About 25 people from the Bridgeton area met at 5am on that morning and car pooled for their trip. They were part of a group of about 75,000 who gathered that day.

Our time of prayer began with confession and repentance. Engle cried out for Christians to take responsibility for the problems we face in our culture today. Gov. Mike Huckabee led a time of prayer in which he stated, "Repentance and revival cannot start in the building behind me (the Capitol Building) unless it first takes place in the temple inside me." Huckabee urged Christians to take individual responsibility, to confess and repent for allowing moral decline moral decline to sweep across our nation and to seek God for ways we are to respond to the situation we are now in.

For the next 12 hours the 75,000 who gathered worshiped and prayed together. Prayers addressed issues such as abortion, immorality, teen sexuality, racial reconciliation with the Native-Americans, African-Americans, and Latino-Americans. We also addressed immigration issues. Leaders representing various people groups and organizations led these times.

One local participant, Don McCracken of Upper Deerfield said this of his experience, “I am thankful that I had an opportunity to be a part of The Call DC event. It is an effective way for me to get out of the pew and do something of Kingdom value. God’s Word says that He honors fasting and praying, and I believe that things like this help to slow the downward spiral our country is following into moral bankruptcy.”

Beginning in September the Salvation Army will be open for such a time of prayer each Saturday evening, 6:30-8pm. I encourage you to come out and join us as we pray for the needs of Bridgeton and for revival to come to America.

HERE'S a 'CALL TESTIMONY' from Cindy Patterson.

One of the "big" things that God impressed on me at "The Call" was the uniqueness and beauty of different and varying worship styles. Initially, I found myself a bit "offended" at some of the more boisterous and unfamiliar ways of worship. I was rather quickly convicted. Throughout that day and even since, God has been "convincing me" that there are many styles of worship, as many as there are individuals and personalities. God has created us all very uniquely and I believe that our worship styles and "comforts" are often reflected in the very nature of who we are. Whether dancing loud and boisterous before the Lord, as David danced (to the scorn of his disconnected wife!), whether in a somewhat (rather) quieter and more reserved manner (as I tend to worship), or introspectively with no perceived outward signs of worship, let us worship to the glory, honor and praise of our magnificent God! It is certainly God that knows each heart, not me!! My prayer is that we learn to embrace and accept each other; including our styles of worship. I pray that I am learning! May we continue to spur each other on in this glorious life of faith and loving our God!

21 Day Fast

Reminder: The 21 Day Fast fast will begin on Sunday Jul7 27th and end on Saturday August 16th. We encourage everyone to extravagantly devote themselves during this special time that we are setting aside to seek the Lord for ourselves, loved ones, city, and nation. We encourage everyone to participate in some way. Many are giving themselves to fast in some way related to food for the entire 21 days.

We will be meeting for prayer every night during the fast. Here are some designated places that their will be gatherings, but feel free to meet other places as well to suit your location/schedule.
